Is It Easy To Get To The Arena?

Customers who do not have a ride to the Rod Laver Arena for the event should not worry either. The organisers of the event have done their very best to provide you with several public transport options during the course of the tournament.

Your first option is one of the free shuttle trams that will be making their way through Melbourne during the tournament. These shuttle trams are completely free if you are able to show you have a ticket for the Australia Tennis Open. The shuttle trams are running on route 70, from CBD to the Rod Laver Arena and Hisense Arena. The trams also run quite late, because you can still catch one up until one hour after the end of play. Customers who intend to catch a night session or twilight session can still take advantage of the free shuttle trams as well.

Anyone who is looking to come to Melbourne by train can also get quite close to the Rod Laver Arena. If you want a stop that is within walking distance of the event, we can recommend the Richmond, Flinders Street or Jolimont stations. Even though there may be a few signs that will tell you which way to go from the station, we do recommend printing out a small plan before you go.

There are also a number of busses that will take you to the arena. The best bus to take, with the closest stop to the arena, is the 605 Gardenvale. In order to be closest to the arena, we recommend getting off at the Batman Avenue stop, which is close to the main entrance of Melbourne Park.

Driving to the Rod Laver Arena is not really recommended, considering that the organisers are expecting a considerable amount of traffic for the event. The only official public parking area is in Yarra Park. Attendees who want to park there will have to pay a fee of 8 dollars per session. There is also disabled parking available at the Rod Laver Arena, so if you have a disabled badge you will be able to park there for free.

For more information about the travel routes and available public transport options, we recommend paying a visit to the official Australian Open Travel Info Website.

Are There Hotels Available Around The Arena?

Tennis fans who would rather stay in Melbourne during the event will get plenty of hotels to choose from. If you intend to stay in Melbourne, we recommend getting your hotel booked well in advance. Many people will find it difficult to get a hotel booked close to the event, since it is quite a busy time. If you are having trouble finding a hotel near the arena, you can also get a hotel near one of the bus stops or tram stops that lead to the event.

How Do I Order My Australia Tennis Open Tickets?

To order your tickets, please select the event you wish to attend and click on “view tickets”. A new page will open with a plan of the Rod Laver Arena, where you can see how the seats are divided. By using the plan, you can get the seats with the best possible view. There are also a number of shaded seats, if you are quite susceptible to sunburn. All seats are colour coded as well, which makes it easier to find the seats you are after.

Once you have made your decision, click on the seats you wish to order. For example, a ground pass (outer courts) ticket.
